HisTORY
For over 30 years Catholic Christian Outreach (CCOTM) has refined a method of evangelization through the art of intentional accompaniment. Countless young people have encountered Jesus and been transformed by a personal relationship with him through the efforts of CCO missionaries. Many of these young people are then equipped and commissioned as missionary disciples who go forth from the university context and make disciples of others. More and more we have seen how the methods and principles of evangelization employed by CCO missionaries on campus can be translated to other contexts.
Building A missionary Movement
CCO is partnering with our diocesan Office of Catechesis and Faith Formation to provide outstanding resources for Christian growth and discipleship in a small group environment. We started a pilot program last year with one group and now would like to expand it this fall.
The group initially goes through two six-week studies. The first is called "Discovery", which explores the basics of our Christian faith in order to reinforce and strengthen us in our walk with Christ.
The second study, called "Source", helps us better understand the Holy Spirit and the impact that the third person of the Trinity can make in the lives of faithful Catholics.
A third study, entitled "Commission", is offered for those who would like to then lead a group themselves, thus multiplying the impact of CCO Parish at St. Therese. There are two additional studies, "Growth" and "Trust", available to groups, should hey desire to keep going.
