Catechumenate Sponsor
Sponsors serve as a friend and mentor on the faith journey for those who are preparing for initiation into the Catholic church. Sponsors are present during the entire formation process. Sessions begin in September and continue through May.

Marriage Preparation
As a mentor couple, you and your spouse will work with engaged couples preparing for the sacrament of marriage. You should be an actively practicing Catholic in good standing who has been married for five years or longer.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Assist in the CGS Atrium on weekday mornings. This can be weekly, monthly, as substitute, or when available.

Parish Schools of Religion Catechist
Prepare and teach religious instruction to children grades K-5. RE meets on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:15 pm, beginning the second Wednesday after Labor Day and continues through May.

High School Confirmation Team
Team members serve as mentors/table leaders for high school students preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Young Church Core Team
Adults are needed to work with middle school and high school youth during Young Church, our youth ministry style religious education program for 6th-12th Grade students of all backgrounds. Young Church meets Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and follows the Parish Schools of Religion calendar.
Liturgical Ministries
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Assist in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ. Training required. Must be actively practicing your faith at Church.

Greeters / Ushers
Our Greeters welcome visitors and parishioners before and after Masses and help distribute bulletin. Our Ushers greet, welcome and assist visitors with seating. They also assist with the weekly collection plate.

Altar Servers
Altar Servers assist the priest in celebrating Mass. Open to teens and youth, 4th grade and older, who are currently practicing their faith. Training required.

Adoration Chapel
Eucharistic Adoration in the Adoration Chapel for silent prayer. Sign up for a weekly Holy Hour or to be a substitute. ALL are welcome during daytime hours.

First Sunday Adoration
Assist with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the First Sunday of the Month after 5:00pm Mass (approx. 6:30-7:30pm) with the youth group every other month.
Time Commitment: 1 hour on the first Sunday of the Month unless that is a holiday and then we move to the second Sunday

Art & Environment
Assist in decorating the worship space at the beginning of each liturgical season.

Baptismal Preparation Classes
Teach Baptismal Prep class to new parents having their children baptized.

Funeral Hospitality
Our Funeral Hospitality ministers welcome visitors, distribute funeral programs, and assist in helping to prepare the gathering space and/or church for visitations and funerals as needed.
Music Ministries
Adult Choir
Sing with the choir at 10:00 am Mass on Sundays as well as special Masses and Celebrations. Choir rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
Time Commitment: average 4 hours per week.
Cantors
Cantors lead the congregation in song during Mass and special celebrations. This is a solo voice ministry. Audition is required. Must be able to read music.

Treble Choir - Students in 3rd grade & beyond
Come sing with us at school masses and at weekend liturgies throughout the school year as well as special celebrations both within and outside our community. Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesdays from 3:15 pm - 4:15 pm during the school year.

Time Commitment: 1 hour weekly rehearsal
Divine Mercy Chaplet in Song
We sing the Chaplet of divine mercy every Friday evening at 7:00pm in the Church. Come sing with us, harmonize, if you wish, or just pray it along with us in your heart.
Instrumental Musicians / Organists / Pianists - Come, Share Your Skill!
Join us to enhance our weekend liturgies and special celebrations with your talent.

Altar & Rosary
All women of the parish over 18 years of age are automatically part of Altar & Rosary. Providing care and support for the altar, as well as fundraising events throughout the year which have included the Holiday Mart, Garage Sale, the Princess Tea, Cinnamon Bread Bake, etc.

Welcome 2.0 / Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP)
The Welcome Experience is an opportunity for parishioners to build meaningful and lasting relationships. The process consists of a retreat weekend and formation, conducted by fellow parishioners. Participants may sign up by going to our website.

Finance Council
Assist the Pastor in matters pertaining to parish finances and properties. May offer information or guidance or review of annual budget. They may inform parishioners of the financial status of the parish.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
This social ministry offers parishioners a chance to meet and become better acquainted with fellow members of our faith community. Dinners are held the 1st Saturday of each month from October to May. Diners are placed at pot-luck dinners for 6-12 people and asked to provide either a salad, vegetable, or dessert. Hosts provide entree and drinks. Participation is open to all adult members of the parish, married or single, and regular monthly attendance is NOT required.

Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal organization open to all Catholic men of the parish. Fundraisers held throughout the year provide funding for parish needs. They conduct programs for the youth, elderly, and those in the community with special needs.

Library Committee
The Library Committee oversee, maintain, and develop the resources of our Parish Library. The Committee meets weekly on Wednesday morning from October through May.

Marriage Retrouvaille
Peer group ministry assisting couples in troubled marriages offered through the Archdiocese. This program offers the chance to rediscover yourself, your spouse, and a loving relationship in your marriage.

Over 50 Gang!
A quarterly gathering potluck luncheon is held for parishioners "over 50" on a Wednesday in March, June, September, and December. We have short programs consisting of a guest speaker, entertainment, or a group activity. All seniors of the parish are invited.

Pastoral Council
Developed according to Canon Law to serve in an advisory role to the Pastor. This is a three-year commitment with new members cycling off and on each year.

Respect Life Ministry
Assist with various projects and activities such as the Baby Bottle Drive, the Spiritual Adoption program, the Advent Angel Tree, or Mothers Day Baby Shower.

SCRIP Merchant Card Program
Parish program which sells Merchant Cards Through the SCRIP Organization at the Welcome Center after all weekend Masses. A percentage of every card contributes back to the parish.

Funeral Luncheons

Prayer Shawl Ministry

St. Mary’s Food Kitchen/Meatloaf Sunday
Help serve at the St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen in Kansas City, KS one Sunday a month or provide meatloaf for St. Mary’s Kitchen.
